Oscar is so confused, she seeks endlessly in her mind to find who really she's. This time around she was faced with a dilemma to which she found no solution. On one side she was faced with her duty and on the other the resonant appeal of her heart; a striking appeal she to be with the man she loved.
It's true she had heard that call before. By that time she was in love with a man with brown clear hai It's winter, snow's falling silently and gently outside. Oscar is standing by the window she's watching the white crystals falling and touching the frozen ground noiselessly. There was a time when she used to hate snow because André and her couldn't go to the stream sometimes. But now she love it because everything about snow seemed so simple.
and blue-grey eyes. A gentleman he was with a brillant future but a sad life. She lovesd him bitterly but he was in love with another person. Everyday and every night she cried her sorrow. Meanwhile she languished for him another man desired her more than everything in the world. He was a commoner; he had always being his best friend, it was André.
André loved him passoinately and sincerely. With time Oscar came to know she shared his feelings.He had loved Oscar for a very long time now as from te first day he had seen her. Perhaps he had been born to love him perhaps,he was her destiny.Everyday their hearts cried silently and endlessly, their overflow of love.Oscar wished she had being deaf to these sorowful complains. Though she tried to resist to the call her body lingered from his soft and sweet touch. Her lips begged for a kiss from him. But still she fought against that almosr irrepressible feeling.The thought of that man had set her mind ablaze. But he wasnn't there to quench the fire. It was all her fault she had rejected as from that night when he had manifested his burning love violently.
How she wished she could tell him what she felt. She knew how André suffered, she knew now how he felt. Every time se passed near him she could hear his heart beat faster and louder. She could see his eyes flaming with undying love. Though she was also affected she acted coldly and he couldn't guess how feverish he made her feel. Oscar knew she had to make a choice but it wasn't so easy because of that constant indomitable confkict" Duty against Love". If she choosed one she will have to sacrifice the other; if she sacrificed one she left a part of her aside.
Its trrue she had been faced with this dilemma all her life. But this time it was different she suffered so much that she fell like given up the ghost at anytime to cease the gnawing and throbbing pain. The whole of her was subjugated by the raging fire, she dashed off into the snow, she lookep up into the sky and shouted
"Fall on me you white crystals. Freeze my soul and my heart. If thee are the cure to my scald then freeze me entirely that I may feel it no more."
She stopped panting with her throat aching. Tears from her eyes fell and mixed with the snow. The little crystals were frozen like her frail body. After a little while Oscar stood up and entered the house, leaving behind a part of her buried in the snow. Which part had she left? She couldn't most certainly tell but the pain had not completely gone away.
